Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance are offering this series of programs to help educate and empower anyone impacted by this disease. Whether you are a patient, caregiver, family member or friend, these discussions will address your concerns, help you navigate the uncertainties of cancer, and provide you with the tools to move forward with hope and courage.

Learning the ABCs of Cancer: Becoming Empowered
You or someone you care about just got a cancer diagnosis. What next? How do you become the best-informed patient possible? How do you begin to address your worries, fears and concerns? And how do you get the information necessary to support someone going through treatment? Join Dr. Tony Back of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, American Cancer Society patient navigator Sara Blackmur, and patient Ritsuko Hamai as they discuss navigating the confusing first steps down the road to wellness.

How Cancer Impacts Families and Changes Relationships
Cancer changes lives. Family relationships and couple dynamics shift after a diagnosis, and it's hard to know what to do and say. Join psychologist Dr. Sylvie Aubin and social worker Eric Hanson, both of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, as they explore ways to support yourself, friends and loved ones during a challenging time.

Survivorship: Now What?
Sometimes a cure is not the end of living with cancer. Surviving this disease can have ongoing physical and emotional effects. What does life after cancer look and feel like? Hear from former patient Jayne Collins and Dr. Karen Syrjala, co-director of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's Survivorship Program, as they talk about the road through recovery and how to take your continued health into your own hands.
