Hingorani shares $1.6 million for pancreas-cancer research

Dr. Sunil Hingorani is among investigators at six leading research centers who will share $1.6 million in the first round of 2009 funding for pancreas-cancer research from The Lustgarten Foundation.
LIVESTRONG Challenge holds first Seattle event

Staff and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program enjoyed a high profile at Seattle’s first LIVESTRONG Challenge on June 21. The first-time cycling event raised more than $1 million for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Athena Partners 'kicks' $21,000 toward breast-cancer research
(June 22)
Athena Partners, a nonprofit bottled-water corporation joined with Washington Premier Football Club and food service businesses to raise more than $21,000 to support the Center’s microRNA research toward early detection of breast cancer.
Eastside hospital joins SCCA network
(June 22)
Overlake Hospital Medical Center has joined the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Network to become the first major medical center in the Seattle area, and the eighth community health care facility in Washington and Alaska to enter into an affiliation agreement with the Alliance.
