Brief
The Cystic Fibrosis Research Center at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center is seeking applications for seven faculty-level pilot and feasibility projects and two post-doctoral fellowship positions. Deadline for the applications is April 30. Info: Wendy Robertson, 527-3861.
For the faculty-level projects, three cystic-fibrosis-related projects, three cystic-fibrosis-related gene-therapy projects and one non-cystic-fibrosis gene-therapy project will be funded. Each project would provide an investigator with $50,000 per year for two years. The funds are intended for junior faculty developing a research career or mid- to senior-level faculty who wish to develop expertise and preliminary data in a new research area.
The postdoc fellowships are intended to support laboratory-based research, not clinical training. Funds of more than $100,000 are available for up to three years. Fellows must pursue research relevant to cystic fibrosis, including gene therapy, ion transport, intracellular protein processing/trafficking, pulmonary inflammation and microbiology or bacterial-epithelial cell interactions.
