Thursday, October 18, 2001 • Vol 7, Issue 20

Brief

Have you ever had to search for federal statistics? If so, FedStats, at http://www.fedstats.gov. might be a useful web site. FedStats is an online portal to statistical information originating from more than100 U. S. federal agencies. Users can access information by topic, geographically, by agency or by keyword searching. FedStats also provides links to data access tools produced by agencies such as the National Center for Health Statistics. The product, CDC Wonder, provides a single point of access to a wide variety of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports, guidelines, and numeric public health data. FedStats also lists links to many other useful tools. Please note though, that while FedStats is a gateway to statistics on U.S. government Internet sites, no statistics are generated directly on this resource.
