Does the forecast call for snow? Call an inclement-weather hotline

The likelihood of extreme weather conditions are here, so if you haven't done so already, take a moment to write down one of these two phone numbers:

The policy for the Hutch and Alliance is to remain open during inclement weather except under the most extreme conditions. In such event, city or state officials generally will recommend closure for traffic-safety. But certain "essential service" areas , such as patient care, maintenance, security and animal-health resources, may operate nonetheless.

Staff in essential positions must report to work on regular workdays during a closure. "Essential service" staff are pre-advised about such requirements. Now is the time to discuss these requirements with your supervisor and for supervisors to reiterate these requirements to essential-service personnel.

Staff should assume both organizations are open unless the hotline indicates otherwise.

A message regarding status of any Hutch/Alliance closure is recorded by 6 a.m. on each organization's hotline.
