It’s time for faculty and staff to become familiar with the inclement weather hotlines, updated daily at 6 a.m.: 206-667-4000 for Fred Hutchinson, and 206-288-SNOW (7669) for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Staff should assume both organizations are open unless the hotlines indicate otherwise.
The policy for both institutions is to remain open during inclement weather except under the most extreme conditions. But certain “essential service” areas - such as patient care, maintenance, security and animal health resources - may have to remain in operation. It is important for supervisors in these areas to discuss with their staff the requirements on reporting to work during regular workdays when the facility is closed.
