Google search the center Web site
The Arnold Digital Library and Internet Services Department introduces Google, the Web’s top search engine, to the main Fred Hutchinson site www.fhcrc.org. Available in early December, the Google search engine will improve the ease-of-use and functionality of the center Web site. Tips for better searching with Google include:
- For a basic search, just enter a few descriptive words.
- Capitalization doesn’t matter, so a search for “George Washington” and “george washington” will return the same results.
- Use a minus sign (“-”) before a word to exclude it from your search.
- To search for a specific phrase, surround it with quotes. For example: “breast cancer”
- If you misspell a word, Google will often prompt you with the correct spelling. Just click on the suggestion to change your search.
