HIPAA confidentiality training continues through March

Confidentiality training sessions on the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) continue through March.

Faculty and staff who deal with individuals' protected health information are required to attend one session or complete Internet-based training online before the act goes into law on April 14. And everyone in Administration is required to attend a basic session or complete Internet-based training, also by April 14.

Here are the remaining sessions:

For administrative staff: noon-12:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, Yale J2-515; 11-11:45 a.m. Monday, March 10, Pelton; 11-11:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, Met East 927; 11-11:45 a.m. Monday, March 24, Yale J2-515.

For investigators and research staff: 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, Met East 927; 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, Met East 927; 2-3 p.m. Thursday, March 20, Pelton.
