Beware boarding-pass hassles on international return flights

Brief
January 16, 2003

Passengers arriving in the United States on international flights and connecting to domestic flights may be required to obtain a boarding pass for the domestic flight, which will entail exiting secured areas, going to the ticket counter or self-service kiosk and clearing security checkpoints to board.

This could cause passengers to miss connecting flights, so try to obtain connecting boarding passes with the originating boarding pass. Check with your airline or the connecting airport to determine the boarding pass situation.

The airports using the new boarding-pass rules are listed at http://www.tsa.dot.gov/public/display?content=372&theme=87%20.
