Public Health Sciences Division Director Dr. John Potter explores a cancerous section of the 4-foot high, 40-foot long fiberglass replica of a human colon.
The creation of Molly McMaster, a 27-year old colon-cancer survivor, the Colossal Colon Tour visited Seattle as part of the Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation's 20-city tour to educate the public about colorectal cancer.
Potter kicked off the Seattle Center event, which featured family-friendly activity stations and information about colorectal-cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. Fred Hutchinson also provided volunteers to help at the event.
