To more accurately reflect their research emphases, a scientific program and a collaborative research study group based in the Public Health Sciences Division will undergo name changes.
The Cancer Prevention Research Program has been renamed the Cancer Prevention Program. Dr. Polly Newcomb has been appointed head of the program.
The epidemiology group formerly known as Weiss-Daling Studies, a name that reflected the PHS faculty members who founded the group-Drs. Janet Daling and Noel Weiss-has been renamed the Cancer Epidemiology Research Cooperative (CERC). The group, which now consists of 12 faculty and their associated students and staff, conducts research on the origins and outcomes of a variety of cancers.
