U.S. Department of Defense offers ovarian-cancer research grants

Research proposals are sought for projects related to the causes and early detection/diagnosis of ovarian cancer.

The grants will be funded by the $10 million U.S. Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Research Program.

The program is administered by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs.

Course scholarships available to postdocs, graduate students

Career-advancing course scholarships from the Fred Hutchinson Student-Postdoc Advisory Committee are open to center postdocs and graduate students.

The amount of the award will be the lesser of $300 or the cost of the course.

Want to help shape ethics training? Join luncheon focus group March 18

The University of Washington Department of Medical History and Ethics seeks center faculty to participate in a focus group on responsible conduct of research.

Set for noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, the group will review potential cases for realism, relevance and appropriateness for teaching responsible conduct in research.
