Prostate-cancer researcher Norman Greenberg to join center's Clinical Research Division

A researcher with interests in prostate cancer will join the Clinical Research Division in January.

Dr. Norman Greenberg, currently an associate professor of molecular and cellular biology and urology at Baylor College of Medicine, has developed mouse models to study the molecular pathways associated with the transformation of normal prostate cells into cancer cells. Ultimately, the work may lead to novel strategies for prevention, diagnosis and therapy.

Greenberg has a Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular biology from the University of British Columbia and completed postdoctoral work at Baylor.

"Norm brings to the division enormous knowledge of the molecular biology of prostate cancer as well as a wealth of experience in the development of animal models of human disease," said Dr. Fred Appelbaum, director of the Clinical Research Division.
