Seattle Biomedical Research Institute investigators speak in Pelton Auditorium on Oct. 14

Fred Hutchinson will host a symposium featuring research at the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute (SBRI) from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 in Pelton Auditorium. SBRI, a nonprofit research institute dedicated to infectious-diseases research, will relocate to South Lake Union next year.
Speakers and topics include:
- 2 p.m.: Dr. Ken Stuart, "RNA Editing: A Novel Mechanism for Gene Expression Built from Spare Parts."
- 2:40 p.m.: Dr. Leo Stamatos, "Engineering Vaccines to Overcome HIV Antigenic Variation."
- 3:20 p.m.: Break
- 3:40 p.m.: Dr. Patrick Duffy, "Malaria Pathogenesis and Vaccine Development."
- 4:20 p.m.: Dr Nancy Freitag, "You Are What You Eat: Listeria monocytogenes Within Host Cells."
