Annual fire drills scheduled

Brief

August 5, 2004

The Environmental Health and Safety Department, with the support of Facilities Engineering and Security, will conduct annual fire drills in August and September. Evacuation preparedness and training plays a vital role in reducing fire-related injury and death in a fire incident. EH&S urges all staff to participate in the drill.

During the procedure, the fire-alarm system will be activated and an evacuation alarm will sound. Staff will be expected to evacuate in an orderly fashion and report to their designated assembly area. The duration of the drill should be about 10 minutes.
