Moyers help raise $4.9 million at annual Hutch Holiday Gala

With a generous challenge gift from The Moyer Foundation, Karen and Jamie Moyer helped the Hutch Holiday Gala raise $4.9 million for cancer research on Dec. 4. The Moyers offered to match every cash gift made during the Help the Hutch portion of the gala, up to a total of $1.5 million. The sold-out audience took up the challenge and donated $2 million. The auction raised another $1.4 million, including $250,000 from Moneytree, Inc., which made a donation every time a live auction item sold for fair market value or higher.

The annual gala, hosted by the Grace Heffernan Arnold Guild, has raised $41 million since 1975.
