HomeStreet Bank presents seminar series on home ownership, loans

Brief
January 22, 2004

Interest rates are still at historic lows. What this means is that now is the time when financing a home is most affordable. Fortunately, this also means that many lenders and brokers will be competing for your business, which can lead to some good deals, but be careful. Many companies advertise low rates or closing costs, but what the average person doesn't know is that they usually end up paying for it.

Luckily Fred Hutchinson employees have a benefit that protects them and saves them real money. The Hometown Home Loan Program is available to all center and Alliance employees. It offers reduced closing costs, low down-payment programs, down-payment assistance and free homeownership education. This means you can save $1,000 or more on out-of-pocket expenses using this program when you buy or refinance a home through the program. Already, 64 employees have used the program to buy or refinance a home since 2001.

Whether you own a home, or are thinking of buying one, come to the HomeStreet Bank brown-bag seminars on the first Tuesday of each month, starting in March. The seminars focus on a variety of topics from fixing your credit to budgeting and saving a down payment to remodeling your current home into the home of your dreams! For more information, check the bulletin boards or HomeStreet's Web site at www.homestreet.com/FredHutch. Refresh-ments will be provided.
