Center researchers to present at AAAS meeting in February

Center research will be featured at several sessions of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual meeting, to be held Feb. 12-16 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center and the Sheraton Seattle Hotel and Towers.
AAAS is the world's largest general science society and publisher of the journal Science. The annual meeting draws scientists and scientific policy experts from around the world.
Sessions organized by or featuring center researchers include:
- Friday, Feb. 13, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.: HRT and WHI: How Science Informs Individuals' Health Decisions. Dr. Garnet Anderson, Public Health Sciences Division, is a session organizer and speaker, and Andrea LaCroix, also of PHS, is a speaker.
- Friday, Feb. 13, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Companion by the Fire: Unlocking the Genetics and Evolution of the Dog. Dr. Elaine Ostrander, Clinical Research and Human Biology divisions, is a session organizer and speaker.
- Friday, Feb. 13, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Building Capacity for Equity and Success: Opportunities for Diversifying Science. Dr. Wendy Law, scientific liaison, is the session organizer.
- Saturday, Feb. 14, 3 to 6 p.m.: The HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Challenges and Hope. Dr. Larry Corey, Clinical Research Division and principal investigator of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, is a speaker at the session.
