Register now for new fall course on biostatistics for nonstatisticians

Brief

July 15, 2004

A new informal course will be offered this fall at the center for researchers seeking an introduction to biostatistics and how biostatisticians think about scientific questions. The course, offered free of charge, will cover biostatistics concepts and tools and how a nonstatistician can best use these tools in collaboration with a biostatistician. The attendee who completes the course should be able to collaborate successfully with a biostatistician to do complex statistics. It is not intended to provide attendees with the skills to conduct complex statistics independently.

The course will meet on Tuesdays and one Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. in the Public Health Sciences building. Participants are welcome to bring lunch. The first 60 scientists who register will receive a complimentary copy of the course text "Intuitive Biostatistics" by Harvey Motulsky.

To register, contact Lehua Thompson at lthompso@fhcrc.org or (206) 667-1828.
