Karl Valentine joins center as director of foundation relations

Brief

Karl J. Valentine joined the center this summer as the director of foundation relations in the Development Department. He will spearhead initiatives aimed at broadening the scope of foundation fund raising into national and international sectors.

Previously, Valentine worked for the University of Washington, where he managed the grant and contract portfolio for the School of Arts and Sciences. He also brings 14 years of academic fund-raising experience, including appointments at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he did extensive fund raising in genomics research.
