Several center investigators will present seminars on their research at Frontiers in Cancer Research Prevention, a meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research to be held Oct. 16-20 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle. Attendees include basic scientists, translational researchers, physician-scientists, epidemiologists and behavioral scientists from a variety of areas in cancer research.
Dr. John Potter, director of the Public Health Sciences Division, is chair of the meeting’s program committee. Potter also will chair a debate at the meeting, “There Are No Barriers to Prevention but Science, Technology, Education, Race and Income,” which will take place at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17. Dr. Robert Day, former center president and director, will take part in the debate.
Other center researchers and affiliate investigators who will deliver presentations at the meeting include: Drs. Garnet Anderson, Patricia Blount, Nora Disis (University of Washington), Ruth Etzioni, Denise Galloway, David Hockenbery, Ken Kopecky, Johanna Lampe, Margaret Mandelson (Group Health Center for Health Studies), Anne McTiernan, Ross Prentice, Brian Reid and Nicole Urban.
