Stem-cell forum at UW, Oct. 18; ethics-training credit available

The Forum on Science Ethics and Policy will hold a public forum Oct. 18 entitled “Stem Cells: The Science, Policy and Possibilities.” Fred Hutchinson trainees can receive ethics-training credit by attending.

An expert panel will discuss various aspects of stem-cell research. The panel members will be Dr. Gerald Schatten of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Lawrence Goldstein of the University of California San Diego, Dr. Jeffrey Kahn of the University of Minnesota, and Anna Mastroianni of the University of Washington.

The forum will be held 7-9 p.m. in Kane Hall, Room 130, on the University of Washington campus.
