Karen Moyer and cancer survivor Gregory Chaya answer phone calls from donors at the third annual Catch a Cure for Cancer radiothon on KOMO 1000 News. This year, the radiothon, which benefits The Gregory Fund, raised more than $250,000 for early cancer detection research at the Center.

Chaya, 15, underwent a bone-marrow transplant at the Center in the 1990s and is now cancer-free. He has returned to Seattle each year since The Moyer Foundation and the Center established his namesake fund and Catch a Cure for Cancer, a weekend of events that includes the radiothon, a celebrity waiters dinner and auction, and a patient family day at Safeco Field, where 100 patients and their families receive lunch and tickets to a Mariners game. More than 100 volunteers contributed their time to the radiothon. Special thanks go to corporate sponsors D. A. Davidson, Consolidated Restaurants, KOMO 1000 News, Seattle Mariners, Fox Sports Net, Sport Restaurant and Bar, All-Star Auto Glass, UPS, Dreyers, QFC, Wells Fargo, Eagle Home Mortgage, The Seattle Times, Titan Worldwide, Bernstein Lanoga Corporationg, and Qualstar.

Karen and her husband, Seattle Mariners pitcher Jamie Moyer, established The Moyer Foundation in 2000.
