New Affymetrix microarray equipment installed in Genomics Shared Resource lab

Brief

February 17, 2005

Several upgrades to the Affymetrix GeneChip® system in the Genomics Shared Resource's DNA Array Lab were completed last month, enabling the processing of an assortment of new, high-density GeneChip® products relating to whole-genome expression analysis and single-nucleotide polymorphism mapping. In addition, these upgrades provide more automated processing to improve data quality.

As part of the upgrades, two additional fluidics stations have been acquired and installed, doubling the throughput capacity of the previous system.

Funding for the upgrades was provided by a grant from the National Institutes of Health as well as center support. For more information, contact Dr. Jeff Delrow, director of the Genomics Shared Resource, at jdelrow@fhcrc.org.
