Brief
Member-track faculty from all scientific divisions are invited to apply for pilot-project funding from the center's Early Detection and Intervention Initiative. Post-doctoral fellows and staff scientists are encouraged to partner with member-track faculty to submit applications.
Approximately $250,000 is available; awards will be made in the amount of $25,000-$50,000, including indirect costs.
The pilot proposals should represent a new project or new research direction for the principal investigator. Priority will be given to proposals that:
The pilot funds may be used to generate preliminary results for outside funding or to provide a timely opportunity to test a new idea that might otherwise be lost if delayed by the National Institutes of Health review cycle.
A short letter of intent briefly describing the pilot project is due by Jan. 31. This letter should be e-mailed to Judy Nelson at jnelson@fhcrc.org. Final proposals will be due Feb. 15 and will be evaluated by the Pilot Award Review Committee. Awards are expected be announced in mid-March, with funding beginning in April.
