When the Healthy Challenge begins on Jan. 24, a new category of Household Challengers will be included in a separate competition. For 12 weeks, teams will compete for points, prizes and the coveted trophy by tracking their healthy habits on a score card.
"Last year many participants said they wished they could involve their family members or roommates." said Jonathan Sheppard, the center's compensation and benefits manager. "While we are not changing the rules regarding the composition of work-based teams, we are adding the option of participating as a household group of any size."
In addition to a new line up of speakers and events, this year's Challenge will highlight cardiovascular health issues. "But the purpose of the Challenge remains the same," Sheppard said. "It's to have fun and support each other as we attempt to make small changes in behaviors that affect our health." Here's what's coming:
