Firework safety reminder from EH&S

Brief

June 16, 2005

June is both National Safety Month and Fireworks Eye Safety Month. Each year, approximately 1,950 eye injuries occur because of fireworks. For this reason, the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) reminds us to leave the fireworks to the professionals. For more information, visit the National Safety Council's Web site at www.nsc.org/nsm, or the AAO Web site at www.aao.org/patients/eyemd/fireworks.cfm.
