Brief
Calling all project administrators! The Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) Department is in the process of improving the way you gain authorization to view financial and payroll reports and procure items in the FMS system. The upgraded security system expands existing authorization guidelines, giving administrators the ability to maintain authorizations for a PI or manager's project via a seamless, online user interface. The improved system will be available to all FMS users on July 18.
To complete the task, FMIS will need your assistance with converting existing authorizations. Beginning June 6, if you are a project administrator for one or more projects, FMIS needs you to review your existing authorizations for projects you manage and provide feedback to FMIS by June 17. To assist you in this process, FMIS has created a Security Conversion Audit report that will be deployed in the Crystal Enterprise system and will be available to all FMS users on June 6. This report will show how existing authorizations will convert in the new system. Users should notify FMIS of any updates needed to the initial conversion results for the updates to be reflected on July 18. Instructions will be posted on the FMS Web site and FMIS will hold several brown-bag discussions about the security conversion process and other changes related to the security upgrade at the following times and locations:
