Volunteers, donations needed for patient reunion July 29-31

Brief

Staff volunteers are needed this summer as hundreds of Hutchinson Center marrow and stem-cell transplant survivors and their families return to the campus July 29-31 for a weekend of workshops, research updates and events to celebrate their "Legacy for Life." The invitees are former patients who received transplants before Jan. 1, 2001. To date, approximately 1,000 attendees have signed up for the reunion.

The reunion committee will depend heavily on the generosity of Center staff to make this event memorable and successful. Needs include:

• Volunteers to assist with registration, transportation and other logistics
• Housing for participants unable to cover hotel costs
• Donated air miles for former patients who live out of town and can't afford to fly
• Donations of gifts to be used as door prizes or mementos at reunion events
