Center, SCCA sponsor sensory workshop Nov. 29 in Pelton

The Hutchinson Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) will hold a workshop to discuss sensory issues for oncology patients from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Pelton Auditorium.

The workshop, "The Role of Sensory Perception in the Treatment of Cancer," is geared for oncology clinicians. It features a presentation by Dr. Linda Buck, 2004 Nobel Prize recipient, entitled "Unraveling the Sense of Smell"; and a presentation by Sarah Washburn, oncology dietitian, SCCA, and Barbara Fromm, director of hospitality, Harborview Medical Center, entitled "Weaving the Science of Tasting and Smelling into Practice."

No advance registration or registration fee is required. Certificates for continuing education will be available to attendees. Light refreshments will be served.
