Susan McKeeth drives about 40,000 miles a year for her job as a research project interviewer for the Center's Public Health Sciences Division and the University of Washington Cardiovascular Health Research Unit. While traveling through 13 counties to collect research data and specimens, an idea brewed. She could turn pictures of her favorite rest stops into a project that would teach her sons about the value of giving. Today, thanks to help from family and friends, her collection of photos of quirky coffee stands is a 2006 calendar that McKeeth is selling to benefit the Center's cancer research. The calendar includes directions to 13 espresso "standouts," including a Victorian home, a steamer ship and a 1950s percolator.
