Basic Sciences Division retreat draws 190 faculty and staff

The Basic Sciences Division retreat attracted 190 faculty and staff Sept. 19-20 at the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine.

Dr. Don Brownlee, professor of astronomy at the University of Washington, was invited to speak at the retreat. His talk was entitled "Astrobiology and the Fate of Life on Earth."

The program also included short research presentations by faculty and a poster session highlighting projects conducted by the division's postdocs, graduate students and technicians.
