Environmental Health and Safety to conduct fire drills Sept. 7-14

Brief

August 17, 2006

The Environmental Health and Safety Office, with the support of Facilities Engineering and Security, will conduct annual fire drills in the following buildings at the dates and times specified. The fire-alarm system will be activated, an audible evacuation alarm will sound and staff will be expected to evacuate in an orderly fashion and report to the designated assembly area. The drill should not exceed 10 minutes.

Evacuation preparedness and training play a vital role in reducing fire-related injury and death in a fire incident. EH&S urges all staff to participate in the annual fire drill.
