Center, UW, SCCA present CME course on best practices for cancer control, prevention Sept. 16 in Arnold

The Center, in conjunction with the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, will present a continuing medical education (CME) course, Saturday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Arnold Building, M1-A303/305/307.
The daylong program will consist of a comprehensive review of current evidence bases for topics of importance to primary-care physicians (especially those who will see patients at the SCCA's new Cancer Prevention Clinic), with the intent of bringing the latest research science into the practice realm.

- 11:30 a.m. -12:15 p.m., Cancer-risk assessment, Dr. Polly Newcomb, PHS
- 1-1:45 p.m., Research in cancer screening and prevention, Dr. Scott Ramsey, PHS
- 1:45-2:45 p.m., Patient counseling, Dr. Peggy Hannon, UW Dr. Craig Sawchuk, UW Medicine and Harborview Medical Center
- 3-4 p.m., Cancer control, Dr. Jennifer Specht, UW Medicine, SCCA; Dr. Gideon Steinbach, UW Medicine, SCCA
