Research rest-stop inspired coffee calendar benefits Center

Research project interviewer Susan McKeeth's espresso-stand calendar is back for a bigger benefit edition. McKeeth works for the Center's Public Health Sciences Division and the University of Washington's Cardiovascular Health Research Unit. Last year, while traveling through 13 counties to collect research data and specimens, an idea brewed. She could turn pictures of her favorite rest stops into a project that would teach her sons about the value of giving. McKeeth's 2006 "Drive-thru Puget Sound Espresso Stands" calendar raised more than $6,000 for cancer research.

This year, McKeeth has traveled from Centralia, WA, to Homer, AK, and captured the true flavors of 68 small, stand-out espresso/specialty beverage establishments visited along the way. Her $15 "Shots of Espresso" calendar is available at the University Book Stores, Elliott Bay Book Company or through direct order at (425) 351-5442. Calendar proceeds will again benefit the Center.
