Parking-rate increase takes effect Aug. 1
The Center's parking-rate increase is the first since 2003. It will likely be followed by modest increases in 2008 and 2010.

In compliance with the city's Transportation Management Plan (TMP), Center parking rates will increase effective Aug. 1.
TMP guidelines include a requirement for businesses to charge market rate for parking. Around South Lake Union, parking rates range between $70 and $140 per month. The Center's parking-rate increase, the first since 2003, reflects a move toward the low end of market rates. The Transportation Department will likely propose additional modest increases in July 2008 and July 2010.

The new parking rates, effective Aug. 1, are as follows:
