March 2, 2006

Registration and abstract submission are underway for the 6th Biennial Ovarian Cancer Research Symposium: From Prevention to Cure, sponsored by the Marsha Rivkin Center and Swedish Medical Center on Sept. 7-8 in Seattle.

Guest speakers include Dr. Paul Cairns, Fox Chase Cancer Center, "Discovery, Early Detection and Application of Ovarian Cancer Biomarkers"; University of Ottawa's Dr. Barbara Vanderhyden, "Pathogenesis and Risk"; Dr. David Huntsman, University of British Columbia, "Experimental/Emerging Therapeutics: Pre-clinical Models"; and Dr. Deborah Armstrong, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, "Experimental & Emerging Therapeutics: Clinical Applications."

The symposium is soliciting abstracts with direct or potential applicability to ovarian cancer. Submitting authors with the most meritorious abstracts will be invited to present during scientific sessions or at the poster session. Clinicians, basic scientists and allied health professionals at all levels are encouraged to submit abstracts by June 1.

Registration, abstract submission and full conference details are available online at www.marsharivkin.org/events/symposium/.

Space is limited and early registration is strongly recommended. Registration ends Aug. 25. There is no charge for the symposium, but donations are encouraged.
