Intrigued by the idea of multicultural learning-group discussions over lunch, but not quite sure what they are all about? Attend one of the Diversity Council's upcoming brown-bag forums to learn about and participate in the program. The forums will include small, facilitated group discussions about a short reading that will be available prior to the event on the diversity Web page.
The first forum will be held Nov. 14, noon-1:30 p.m. in M1-A303/305 (Arnold Building). The discussion will focus on a commentary from the July 2006 issue of Nature, "Does Gender Matter?" Ben Barres, a Stanford neuroscientist, once a woman, explores the topic of gender bias in science. To download the article, go to centernet.fhcrc.org/CN/communities/diversity_council/brown_bags.
The second brown-bag discussion, Dec. 7, same time and location, will explore the topic of ageism (with the reading available online at the end of this month). There's no need to RSVP. Please feel free to bring lunch.
