Breast-specimen repository seeks women for breast-cancer clinical trial

The Hutchinson Center/UW Breast Specimen Repository and Registry (BSRR) currently needs 300 blood samples from women over the age of 18 who have never smoked for a study looking at markers of breast-cancer susceptibility, including:

Interested volunteers are asked to donate 20 ml of blood and complete a short questionnaire at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA).

The goal of the BSRR is to impact basic and clinical research on the etiology, biology and treatment of breast cancer by providing investigators with high-quality, data-rich breast and blood samples that meet the detailed requirements of their research.

If you'd like to participate in this study, please contact Gabriele Schuster, research study coordinator, (206) 288-1004.

To learn more about the BSRR, contact Barbara Stein, BSRR manager, (206) 667-5504, brstein@fhcrc.org or visit www.fhcrc.org/science/breast_cancer_program/services.
