Dr. Peter Nelson of the Human Biology and Clinical Research Divisions has accepted the National Institutes of Health invitation to serve a four-year term as a member of the Tumor Microenvironment Study Section for the Center for Scientific Review.
Selection criteriaStudy section members review and make recommendations on NIH grant applications and survey the status of research in their field of science. Members are selected based on their achievements in their scientific area, including publications, quality of research and other scientific activities, achievements and honors.
"Nelson's scientific prominence in the field of prostate cancer, his contributions to that research, as well as his objectivity and capability to work effectively within a group, prompted the request for his service," said Dr. Toni Scarpa, director of the NIH center.
