Announcing faculty openings in the Public Health Sciences Division
Recruitment is under way for several faculty positions in the Center's Public Health Sciences Division. The Hutchinson Center is an equal opportunity employer; candidates from diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
- Laboratory Scientist
The Molecular Diagnostics Program seeks an assistant- or associate-level laboratory scientist with an interest in molecular diagnostics. Molecular diagnostics may include, but is not limited to, aspects of predictive medicine, early detection, diagnosis, treatment response and risk prediction. An established track record is required for a position at the associate-member level. The successful candidate will establish an independent and collaborative research program to complement ongoing efforts in biomarker discovery and development pertinent to the mission of the Center and the division. An interest in the development or application of novel technologies for measuring bioanalytes is desirable.

- Epidemiologist
The Epidemiology Program seeks one or more assistant- or associate-level scientists with expertise in cancer epidemiology. A corresponding faculty appointment at the University of Washington's Department of Epidemiology may be possible. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in epidemiology or related field, an M.D. with additional research degree, or equivalent training. The candidate should have relevant expertise in multidisciplinary research on cancer etiology, prognosis and/or methodologic research. The incumbent will be expected to establish an active program of independent and collaborative research consistent with the mission of the Epidemiology Program. The Epidemiology Program conducts research in a variety of areas, including studies examining lifestyle, environmental and genetic influences on cancer risk, cancer prevention strategies, determinants of cancer prognosis and methodologic research.

- Computational Biologist
The Computational Biology Program seeks a junior faculty member with a strong research record using computational methods to investigate biological mechanisms. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in a significant biological problem. A non-exhaustive list of possible research areas includes bioinformatics, statistical genetics, machine learning, systems biology, proteomics, population genetics, network modeling or statistical computing.
