Gafken, Eng lead mass spectrometry proteomics course, Feb. 5-9

Shared Resources presents "Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics," Feb. 5-9, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Led by Drs. Phil Gafken and Jimmy Eng, the course will be offered in two modules as follows:

• Monday and Wednesday (B1-076), Tuesday (M1-A303) — Includes details about mass spectrometers, protein identification and quantification by mass spectrometry, characterizing post-translational modifications, data acquisition, analysis of complex mixtures and preparing samples for mass spectrometry.



• Thursday (B1-076), Friday (J2-115) — Includes database search algorithms and the analysis of proteomics data. The final day features hands-on demonstrations in the computer-training center.
