March 2007

The Diversity Council's Village Voice continues its brown-bag presentation of the documentary "Race: The Power of an Illusion," Friday, March 2, noon-1:30 p.m. in Pelton Auditorium. The three-part series, which concludes in April, explores how recent scientific discoveries have toppled the concept of biological race.

"Episode Two — The Story We Tell," traces the origins of the racial idea to the European conquest of the New World and to the American slave system. The one-hour video will be followed by a half-hour facilitated discussion (for those who can stay).

Village Voice presentations will continue April 6, May 11 and June 1.
