The Center's Research Ethics Education Program presents "The Moral and Legal Responsibilities of Persons Using Animals in Research," Friday, March 9, noon-1 p.m. in Pelton Auditorium.
The program — an interactive and in-depth exploration of the moral and legal responsibilities scientists share when conducting research with animals — features Dr. Ben Weigler, director of the Center's Animal Health Resources and a professor at the University of Washington; Dr. Cynthia Pekow, chief of the Veterinary Medical Unit at the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System and a professor at the UW; and Dr. Reitha Weeks, resident scientist, Northwest Association for Biomedical Research.
All may attendAll Center faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend this program. Postdocs and graduate students will receive Research Ethics Education Program credit for attending the lecture. The NWABR co-sponsors the event through an American Medical Association Foundation grant.
