Former Seattle Seahawks star football player Jacob Green and friends raised $200,000 for the Hutchinson Center through the annual Jacob Green Charity Golf Classic Friday, July 17, at the Harbour Pointe Golf Club in Mukilteo.
This was the 22nd annual golf tournament organized by Green and attended by a host of sports celebrities, many of whom also participated in a dinner auction at the Westin Hotel on the eve of the tournament. Q-13 news anchor Bill Wixey, who is undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, boosted the fundraising totals with an inspirational video presentation highlighting the importance of supporting cancer patients.
Since its inception, the Jacob Green’s Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $1.9 million for cancer programs at the Center.
