UW informatics graduate program head to speak Aug. 29

Dr. Peter Tarczy-Hornoch, professor and head of the University of Washington's Bioinformatics Graduate Program, will speak Wednesday, Aug. 29, 8-9 a.m., in Sze East/West, with videoconferencing to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Room 3100/02 and the UWMC, Room EA-8121.*
The lecture will focus on:
- An overview of the program and its mission;
- Current department projects and their contextual relevance to nationwide health informatics research; and
- An in-depth look at two of the projects and their significance to translational research at the UW: 1) The development of the Biomedical Informatics Core, the development of which will support the emerging universitywide establishment of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science, and 2) The Uncertainty in Information Integration Project.
