Winter 2007
(Vol. 4,
No. 1)
The LTFU newsletter is sent quarterly to people who have undergone treatment through Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's transplant program.
Dear friend of LTFU,
This issue highlights the findings of a recently published follow-up study of childhood cancer survivors. This study was not limited to Hutchinson Center patients or to patients who had a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. Even so, we thought that the findings would be of interest to you because they indicate potential areas of concern for anyone who has had childhood cancer. In the future, we look forward to telling you about other studies that address similar problems specifically in transplant patients. We'll also keep an eye out for studies describing methods that can be used to minimize problems after a transplant.
Best regards,
Paul Martin, M.D.
