Former patient wins Olympic honor, carries torch

My wife, Lanette, was a patient at the Hutchinson Center and had her transplant on 8/8/88, the luckiest day of the century!

Because of her leukemia, courage and recovery, she was selected to carry the Olympic torch as it passed through Tri-Cities, Wash. There were several interviews on TV and in the Yakima newspaper. She always gives the Hutch credit for her recovery.

I just wanted to let you know about Lanette's honor and say thanks to the people at the Hutch, especially Drs. Rainer Storb and Richard Nash, her primary doctors when she was a patient. Without these doctors and their staff, my wife would not have been here to receive this Olympic honor.
