Double your donation with a gift to Light the Way Campaign
The Hutchinson Center’s Light the Way Campaign is up and running. For each gift to the Hutch in November and December, a white holiday light will be added to the display on the Hutch campus, brightening the spirits of all those battling cancer. This year, your gift to the annual fund will be matched by Roger and Gloria Crouch up to a total of $50,000.
The lighting ceremony for Light the Way will be Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. For more information on holiday giving and the Light the Way Campaign, contact Tanya Hansen at (206) 667-4974.

Donate to the Hutch in lieu of holiday gifts
Contributions to the Hutchinson Center can make generous and meaningful holiday presents for your friends and family.
For each gift recipient, the Hutch will send festive cards with the inscription: “In the spirit of the holidays, a donation has been made in your honor to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
And each gift to our annual fund will be matched by Roger and Gloria Crouch.

The Joy of Giving
In the face of humankind’s sometimes overwhelming problems, one may be tempted to shrug in despair, “what difference can I make?”
The truth is, each of us can make a difference.
Take the story of the beachcomber who finds a beach filled with starfish stranded at low tide. One by one, she picks up the suffocating creatures and throws them back into the ocean.
A man comes by and asks her, “Why bother? They’ll just wash up on shore again tomorrow. What difference does it make?”
The beachcomber picks up another starfish, throws it into the water and says, “Well, I made a difference for that one.”
This inspires the man to join in. Others walk by and join them. Soon, all the starfish are rescued.
In a world filled with indifference, the generosity of one can set a wonderful example for others to follow.
