Every gift to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center makes a big difference in the fight against cancer, but this holiday season your monthly donation can be even more meaningful.
Two of our most loyal donors Roger and Gloria Crouch of Lathrop, Mo. are hoping you will join them in providing a predictable stream of monthly revenue to help Fred Hutchinson plan and budget for new projects.
Toward this goal, the Crouches will match every donation of $5 or more made through our automated monthly giving program, up to a total of $50,000. This effectively doubles the amount of your gift!
The Crouches offered a similar matching gift four years ago, which was such a success that they decided to do it again.
If you would like to sign up for the automated monthly giving plan and have your donation doubled, contact Roger Buckingham at (206) 667-2981 or rbucking@fhcrc.org.

Manny and Susan Cohen of New York and Boca Raton, Fla., have established an endowment fund for myelodysplasia research with a $60,000 gift. The Cohens consulted with Dr. Fred Appelbaum a few years ago and were so impressed with Fred Hutchinson’s breakthrough research, they were inspired to start the fund.

Treated to an insider’s look at biomedical research, 50 members of Fred Hutchinson’s Partners in Research gathered for a September luncheon held in their honor.
Partners in Research are donors who make planned gifts to the center to benefit future generations. Their donations currently provide about 20 percent of the center’s fund-raising revenue.
At the luncheon, Dr. Lee Nelson shared her success stories in autoimmune-disease research. Her lab has made numerous breakthroughs on rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma and lupus. The group also heard about Stephanie Mappelli’s exciting climb of Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro, an expedition that raised funds for breast-cancer research.
Board member Jeff Maxwell thanked the audience for having the vision to make planned gifts to the center, which leave a legacy for future generations.
We encourage you to consider a bequest or other planned gift. For information about our Partners in Research program, please call our Planned Giving Department at (206) 667-3396 or (800) 279-1618.
